Makes good coffee, but water gags (he column design plastic), inside a well that is hard to see the water level - especially when you are cooking several cups (or, if the pass marks). Just a bad design. Otherwise, this is a great coffee machine.

Good coffee--hard to measure correct amount of water

Makes good coffee but the design of the water gague (stepped plastic column) inside water well makes it difficult to see the water level--especially if you aren't brewing an even number of cups (that's where the step marks are). Just a poor design. Otherwise this is a great coffee maker.

An Easy Recommendation

This coffee maker is a great combination of clean design and ease of use that makes great coffee too. It looks great and feels solid although the switches feel just a little cheap. The controls are well laid out and it's easy to figure out how to get started and make a good cup of coffee without even opening the instructions. The extra heat setting for making 1-4 cups is a nice feature and does make a noticeable difference. I almost dropped the rating to 4 stars because of the way the water reservoir is set up. It can be a little harder than it should be to fill the reservoir without spilling a little. That's a minor inconvenience on what is otherwise a great little coffee maker.

Simple to operate

After going through several coffee makers over the years, including Starbucks Grand Barista, We seem to have hit on one that doesn't clog, has few unnecessary bells and whistles, and makes a pot of coffee pretty fast. I like the feature that allows for the preparation of 1-4 cups of coffee. That comes in handy when a whole pot isn't needed. I also like the variable temperature settings for keeping the pot warm. This coffee maker doesn't have a thermos, which is a good thing. The last 2 makers we've had with thermoses caused overflows from time to time, filling our utensil drawer with coffee. This is a good all around coffee maker that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

This is "THE ONE"

I've been through quite a few home coffee makers. Heck, I even own a coffee shop with top-end Bunn brewing equipment. So let me say, THIS COFFEE MAKER ROCKS!. I've had it for a year. No messes. No dribbling water on the counter when you fill it. No overflowing and dumping coffee all over the counter. Just well brewed coffee. Almost as good as my commercial brewer.

Six years and counting!

In August of this year I will have been using this coffee maker for six years! At our house this is unprecedented. It gets used every day unless we're on a trip and I've never done anything other than clean it when the cleaning light comes on.I use filtered water as we live in the country and have well water. The coffee tastes great--strong and hot. When this one does quit I'll be buying another Cuisinart.

Happy with Coffeemaker

Purchased before Christmas and it's now June. Have been very happy with the coffeemaker since purchase. It's easy to use, the low sounding beep is great feature to let you know coffee is finished brewing. All in all, with owning a Krups prior to this one, I like this one better. Machine feels solid, fairly quiet while brewing.

Well Done!

My Mr. Coffee blew up last week. So with an emergency situation on my hands I had to find a new coffee maker and fast. I live out in the middle of Wyoming so going down to...well anywhere is a long drive. Sooo, hitting up Amazon I researched and came up with this one, lots of reviews and most of them positive. I will have to add to it! So far the coffee maker is great! I buy good coffee and like HOT coffee. This particular unit has a heating element under the pot (which can be controlled)and a timer to set. Pretty much all I need. The unit itself is made well, and easy to use. But once purchased don't forget to put in the water filter. Took me a minute to find this in the directions. 
Now I have to comment on Amazon, the first unit was shipped to me damaged, really damaged. Very bummed about this, which means I overnighted this thing for no reason. However, Amazon was awesome in their customer service. No questions, had it out to me the next day, sent me a return label and boom, done. I always like dealing with the Big A. I hear some people moan about it, but after years of using Amazon, only two issues have come up and they handle it! Nice job guys. 
Oh one last item. After brewing my first pot, the coffee tasted different, better, more flavorful! Not sure if this is due to the water filter or the pot itself, but pleasantly suprised by this! Good Stuff! For the price, I would forget the more expensive stuff.
