I have two of them in my house, and I suffer from allergies hard twice a year. I can tell you that they work! You can emit some ozone, because I do not run more than one hour per day. When I was here to pull the elements of the treatment, it is amazing how much crap, pollen, dust, dirt, etc., collected from the air. In this and the bad thing is that their complaints, because I know that these units maintain their health and that of others who suffer from allergies. Best part, these units are not a replacement filter. Cleaning easy, and they work, if properly cleaned and dried.

Over the last decade, I have owned several Ionic Breeze air purifiers. One is essential for me, since I seem to be allergic to any number of airborne allergens. Two of them (plus an Allegra prescription) allow me to live with furry, four-legged friends.
These machines have always worked well for me. Their life spans have varied: three years, one year, six years. Despite their high cost, I wouldn't consider buying a cheaper brand. If there's a store near you, try returning older models in exchange for a discount on newer models. (Don't bother with the miniature one for the bathroom that they give away as a "gift"-- it doesn't do a thing.)
I do not recommend THIS model. Cleaning it is a hassle because it is designed differently than other models. The accompanying instructions show a picture of a special cleaning tool which was not in the box or attached to the machine. I have been cleaning mine with a brand new paint brush, which only reaches about two-thirds of the surfaces that require cleaning. But even though it has never been cleaned properly in the six months I've had it, it still works really well.
So, go with Ionic Breeze. Just not this model.

Awesome Product!
My girlfriend has stabilized congenital emphysema and allergies that make it difficult for her to breath during certain times of the year. Personally, I have very bad allergies that make you wake up every morning with sinus headaches and stuffy noses. After purchasing this product 2 years ago, I do not regret dropping $400 on the system. Also, I use a cold Holmes humidifier. Together, these systems allow us to breath. I can actually smell food in the morning. My eyes are not dry anymore and I have not had a bout of wheezing in 1 1/2 years. For those who have left poor reviews, your systems broke and it does suck...BUT, mine works great and has not broken. So, if you are looking to purchase a system, buy the warranty. My girlfriend also has been doing incredibly well over the past two years as well. She has only had two cases of wheezing and that was because she came down with a cold.
Another tip if you are interested in purchasing the air system: Get a humidifier because the system sort of brings down the humidity in the room (Do no sit the two near each other because water and electricity are not a good combination). Also, do not directly sleep with the system pointed towards you because you will dry out your sinuses. Try to clean the system once a week and buy a mask to protect yourself from the dust. Clean the system far away from open doors or windows of your dwelling. The last thing you want is the gunk back in your home.
Cleans the air
After a recenbt episode with water in the basement I was trying to get rid of that musty smell, opening windows and fans did not do it. My sister loves the Ionic, she has 3. I purchased one and after just 2 days of use I noticed a significant improvement.... Since I have only had it one month I can not comment on product reliability, but it does do a good job getting rid of smells.
